Setting up Voco IPTV

Every route below ends in the same place: a player holding your username, password and server address. Find your device, follow the steps, and allow about ten minutes.

Before you start

Have the email with your login details open. You need three things from it and they must be typed exactly: the username, the password, and the server URL including its http:// prefix and port number.

Almost every failed setup we are asked about is one of three things: the M3U option chosen instead of Xtream Codes API, a missing port number, or a capital letter typed into a lowercase password. Check those first.

Amazon Firestick & Fire TV

Firestick, step by step

The Fire TV interface hides third-party installs behind two settings. Turn them on once and you never touch them again.

Allow app installs

From the home screen go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and switch on Apps from Unknown Sources. If Developer Options is missing, open Settings → My Fire TV → About and click the device name seven times to reveal it.

Install Downloader

Search the Fire TV store for Downloader — the orange icon — and install it. Open it once and grant it storage permission when asked, otherwise the install in the next step fails silently.

Fetch the player

In Downloader's URL box enter https://www.iptvsmarters.com/smarters.apk and press Go. When the download finishes, choose Install, then Done, then Delete to reclaim the space.

Enter your login

Open IPTV Smarters Pro, accept the terms, and pick Login with Xtream Codes API. Give the profile any name you like, then type the username, password and server URL from your email and press Add User.

The first sync pulls down the channel list and the programme guide and can take two or three minutes on a Firestick. Let it finish before judging anything.

Other devices

Everything that is not a Firestick

Android TV & Google TV

Install IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate straight from the Play Store — no sideloading needed. Choose Xtream Codes API and enter the three details. On TiviMate the same screen is called "Add playlist → Xtream Codes".

Samsung & LG smart TVs

Search your TV's own app store for an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes. Samsung Tizen and LG webOS both carry several. Some ask you to register the TV's MAC address on the app maker's site first — that step belongs to the app, not to your subscription.

iPhone, iPad & Apple TV

Install a player from the App Store, then add an Xtream Codes profile with your three details. iOS players sometimes label the server field "Portal URL" or "Host" — it is the same value, and the port number still matters.

Android phones & tablets

Play Store, IPTV Smarters Pro or XCIPTV, Xtream Codes API, done. Worth setting up first even if the television is the real target: it is the quickest way to confirm your login works before you start sideloading anything.

Windows & macOS

IPTV Smarters Pro has a desktop build, and VLC will play an Xtream line if you prefer. On a laptop the guide and catch-up features are usually weaker than on a TV app, so treat desktop as a second screen rather than the main one.

Anything else

If a device can install an Xtream-compatible player, it can run this. That covers Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, most Android projectors and a good number of set-top boxes. Ask us if you are unsure before buying hardware.

When it goes wrong

Fixing the four common failures

In that order. Most tickets are solved by the first two.

Nine times in ten this is the server URL. It must include http:// and the port number after the colon, and it must have no trailing slash. After that, check for an autocapitalised first letter in the username — phone and TV keyboards do this silently. Retype both fields by hand rather than pasting, since some players keep a trailing space.

The first sync was interrupted. In the player's settings clear the cached data for the profile and let it refresh, without switching apps while it works. On a Firestick this can genuinely take three minutes. If the list is still short afterwards, the profile was probably added as an M3U rather than as an Xtream Codes API login — delete it and add it again the right way.

Try a different feed for the same channel before assuming the line is at fault; several are usually carried. If every 4K stream buffers while HD is fine, the connection is the limit rather than the service — 4K wants roughly 25 Mbps sustained. On a Firestick, an ethernet adapter fixes more buffering than any player setting, because the built-in wireless is the weakest part of the device.

Check the expiry date shown in the player's account screen first. If the subscription is still live, the usual cause is the connection limit: a second device left playing in another room counts against your plan even with the screen off. Close it and try again.
